River Boat Keel Laying Ceremony

Back in August we had a keel laying ceremony for the community boat we are building for the River Thames Boat Project.

A fantastic video about this new build project including the keel laying ceremony has now been completed – take a look:

The River Thames Boat Project is a Richmond based charity whose work allows children, older people and disabled people to participate in activities on the Thames.

The river launch which will be named ‘Thames Discoverer’ has been designed by Graham Westbrook of Westbrook Marine Projects. She is 60 feet long and has been especially designed to be environmentally friendly and carbon neutral. She will be fully accessible for the disabled and be used by the charity to give people the chance to access the Thames, discover the river and learn more about its environment.

You can also see photographs of this build in a special album on our Facebook page.
