Polruan to Fowey Passenger Ferry

The passenger ferry operates a continuous daily service between Polruan and Fowey. Not only does it provide an essential link between Fowey and Polruan for residents and visitors, but also access to local walks such as the Hall Walk either starting or finishing in Polruan, as well as linking the coast path that comes into Polruan from Polperro with the continuing path from Fowey.

The service operates everyday, except Christmas Day, and runs continually leaving each side approximately every 10 - 15 minutes during hours of service. Dogs, bicycles and pushchairs are all welcome but please be aware that the ferry is reached by steps at all landings. Where possible the ferry staff will do their best to assist with pushchairs.

During the winter months (and summer evenings) the service runs from Polruan Quay to Town Quay in the centre of Fowey. In the summer months the ferry runs to Whitehouse slip during the day, Whitehouse is situated on the Esplanade and is less than a five minute walk from the main street in Fowey.

We have four ferries, Tamsin and Lady Jean are licensed to carry 12 passengers, Lady Di to carry 36 passengers and Kaley to carry 48 passengers. Tamsin or Lady Jean are used on a daily basis with Lady Di or Kaley providing the service during busy periods and throughout much of the summer. All of our ferries are regularly inspected and carry full safety equipment. All of our ferries are available for private hire.

Summer service operates 1st May - 30th September.
Service starts at 0700hrs Monday - Friday, 0730hrs on Saturday and 0900hrs on Sunday.
Service operates between Polruan Quay and Whitehouse Slip until 1815hrs.
From 1830hrs service operates between Polruan Quay and Town Quay.
The last ferry from Polruan leaves at 2255hrs, the last ferry from Town Quay leaves at 2300hrs.

Winter service operates 1st October - 30th April leaving Town Quay.
Service starts at 0700hrs Monday - Friday, 0730hrs on Saturday, and 1000hrs on Sunday.
Last ferry from Polruan is at 1855hrs Monday - Saturday and 1655hrs on Sunday.
Last ferry from Town Quay is at 1900hrs Monday - Saturday and 1700hrs on Sunday.

Please check the information boards at the landing points for current times before travelling especially during August when the service may alter to cater for local regattas.
